Businesses may face competing legislative obligations and processes as a result of New Zealand’s updated whistleblower protection law, employment experts warn.
The Protected Disclosures (Protection of Whistleblowers) Act 2022, which will come into force on 1 July 2022, replaces the Protected Disclosures Act (PDA) 2000. The government said the new law is more people focused, easier to understand, and provides increased protection for whistleblowers.
